The Knowledge Management Center (KMC) is one of the three major units under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension. It was created, by virtue of Board Resolution No. 58, s. 2017 approved on September 15, 2017, to coordinate with other units in promoting research and extension culture in the University.

With its Board of Regents (BOR)-approved and copyrighted Operations Manual,Ìý the Knowledge Management Center aims to increase and sustain engagement in research and innovation in the University through continuous improvement of the dissemination and utilization of research outputs and innovations geared towards attaining sustainable development goals, and ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights.

KMC has two major divisions working together to achieve its goal: the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Division (IPTBMD) and the Publication and Communication Division (PCD).Ìý

  1. Publication and Communication Division. The main function of the Publication and Communication Division is to provide avenues for research and technology information dissemination. Managed by the Head, it is in-charge of all R&E publications of CvSU including but not limited to CvSU Research Journal, discipline-based international peer-reviewed journals, R&E newsletters, technology transfer IEC materials, and the like.
  2. Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Division. The Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Division is the arm of the University in protecting the interests of inventors and creators while ensuring that the community and society benefit from the fair and full dissemination of knowledge and innovation. This office is managed by the Head, and supported by Managers of the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) and Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO).

CvSU – IP TBM Platinum Awardee

SM-ÖØ¿ÚÊÓƵ (CvSU) – Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) is once again a recipient of the prestigious Platinum Award at the 2023 ITSO Clustering Awards by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.ÌýThe award was given duringÌý the ITSO Presidents’ Summit at Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City on March 18, 2024.

The Platinum Award is the highest recognition given by IPOPHL for ITSOs that have developed specific competencies or expertise over time and for those with the manpower to dispense such expertise.

CvSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, CvSU-ITSO Manager, Dr. Teddy F. Tepora, and RAISE Project Science Research Assistant, Gerald T. Viado, received the said award.
